>>13448784I do not think this is true. I've been developing a theory on Mega forms and how the mentality should be of them based on the matter that this knowledge should've been apparent from the beginning. It has a lot to do with other things being introduced in this gen and views of pokemon that have been around since the first gen. It seems to me that indeed not anyone can achieve this feat, but it is possible it was a lot easier in ancient times when bonding with pokemon was the only way to tame them. Even then, though, one has to fully master their abilities. It's possible that the pokemon and reach this state on their own, but it would take their entire lives in most cases if at all, unless they encountered specific circumstances that would cause them to gain wisdom and skill beyond that of ordinary experiences. (including being instructed by others on how this is done) I am not sure this is really the case yet, though. It being associated to a Tower of Mastery does sound suspicious. What about the Mega Stones you might ask? Like with other stones, I believe there is an alternate method of achieving the same results, and the stone merely accelerates a process that could've happened naturally. (same with other item induced evos) Those are true evos and this is not a true evo? Duly noted, but I think this is a thing that can only be unleashed temporarily anyway. In other words, the natural process would have the same result. Otherwise, you honestly don't think the people of Kalos wouldn't have realized the properties of a material found in their region even in the past? One way or another, this power has been possible across the history of the pokeworld. There is no way Red discovered it.
