This statue was in the new anime special trailer and it doesn't look like any known Pokemon. Thoughts?

It's the statue in all the Gen 1 gyms. It's not really a Pokemon, it's just a creature.

They are Rhydon. The move Substitute shows the little monster things backsprite; it's not winged.

Animals exist in anime, game, card game and manga canon. Deal w/ it.
Hell, one of the first things you ever experience in the very first game is a reference to Stand By Me. At that point in canon there was still no deer pokes, so how could Stand By Me exist without deer pokes? Obviously deers exist.

It looks like it's a statue of this dragon one of the ~40 Pokemon designs that never made it into the final versions of red/green. There are also similar statues in Iris's champion room in BW2.
