Mike was still trapped up in that space station, the same one he'd been in for what seemed like forever. He'd gotten the word that the mission was almost complete; all they had to do was make it back to their shuttle and blast off before the station did, and they were done. None of his Pokemon on either team were out; he needed maximum possible speed for this one. Even so, he was a couple steps behind Zegen, not to mention he hadn't seen the special ops squad yet... It seemed the place was coming down on them, more sparks flying as the station shuddered, coming closer and closer to reentry level even as it seemed to be coming apart on them.
The hallways flashed between red emergency lights and eriee flashes of sparks a strange shaking coming down from behind them as they headed for the hangers, blast doors closing all around and behind them as the station desperately attempted to stabilize itself again.

The collapsing station was presenting an increasing number of hazards as everyone rushed back to the shuttle. It felt like the thing was tearing itself apart just to kill them... Damnit Weil, you don't ever STAY dead, do you? Oh well, it couldn't be helped now... unless Mike wanted to stay behind and die to make sure Weil went down.

Mike rushed through the open airlock, assuming Zegen was with him. If the special ops squad hadn't made it by now, they likely weren't going to, given that they needed time for the airlock to work unless they liked living (however briefly) in a vacuum.

Gone it certainly was. The view of the earth through it showing a series of space explosions against something, apparently there was a good reason for the absence.

Of course from the opposite end from the hanger they heard a sudden roar and crashing of metal, as if something was coming directly at them... and it didn't care what was in the way.

Mike was a little busy coordinating the escape effort to devote much to defense... The best he could do was send out a tag team partner for Zegen to work with. This would leave him with Cynthia, Mike's Garchomp; she'd have to be reined in, or she'd end up taking out her teammate too.

Hal was busy trying to get into the computer system, seeing if he could get a signal allowing a teleport through. With Sophia still building power, it was up to Cynthia to keep Zegen out of the line of fire. A buff would be best to start, the Garchomp employing a Swords Dance.

The combat strikes continued to rip into the metal each time, parts flying off and sparks shooting everywhere as it kept trying to close in on them, flames already appearing out the sides of it as the damage it had already suffered took it's toll, the body, like the station itself, falling apart on itself.

Cynthia had to move fast after completing her Dance, or Zegen was going to take a direct hit! Ultimately she was supposed to be on defense, though a competent backup attacker might be necessary... Still, Zegen had to be defended first. The Garchomp leapt in, attempting to intercept the Solarbeam... The last crack broke through the armored barrier clean off, exposing the center to him completely as he followed through, cracking, revealing the twisted warped imagine of a face inside, barely held together and obviously barely even sane.

A series of explosions started breaking out behind him, the core system going into pure overload causing the entire system to collectively crash at once, the entire station going dead as it began to ignite, the tip now in the upper atmosphere.

Hal had no luck so far, and had emerged from the system. Sophia had powered up enough to warp out, but could she get the team to safety? If the station had hit the upper atmosphere, it would likely have to explode NOW to minimize the fallout. Mike recalled all the other Pokemon he had out. "Hey!" he called out to Zegen. "Grab on and let's go!" If this failed, they were likely going down with the station...

The voice made one last cry of hate and agony as they vanished the words muffled by the explosions as they warped way, the room they were in soon engulfed in flame as the Core finally went up in a horrific explosion that would shatter the station high in the atmosphere.... taking the mad man, and his mad plans... with it.
