I believe he was talking about animation in general.

And yes, Pokemon's animation does get better each season. Even if the plot doesn't.

He means animation in general.
And if it was pokemon related, somewhat agree.
I like that they use computers to make the attacks instead of actual drawings

me too... But because Max was annoying, and I had no time to actually sit through DP, but the last season was really good. Irist annoyed the shit out of me

He's right tho. It's the plot and the series as a whole what has been getting worse. Animation is really good for such a long series, have you seen the horribly low quality of some Naruto/One Piece episodes?

The only piece of animation that's been improved over the years has been the Pokemon.

actually, yes.
When I was a kid, and discovered anime, it was mostly Shonen Jump stuff.
I watched all the original Naruto stuff (i was caught up with it), also Bleach, and One Piece.
Then I discovered other animes, like Saikano. Saw that my taste was shit, and that it is bad for an anime to take 125 episodes to run... in order to start a sequel...
A friend of mine told me last year that he was caught up with one piece after 2 years of watching it.
Thta shit is over 600 episodes now! HOW THE FUCK DO PEOPLE WATCH IT!

Well the series (as in plot, characters, setting) is actually pretty damn good. I understand it is a little daunting, but it is worth it.

You have to consider however, that while I'm a huge One Piece fan, I haven't seen more than 20 or so anime chapters, while it looks to be a decent adaptation I really can't stomach the time you have to dedicate it and don't get me started on fillers. Give the manga a try, there's no hurry so there's no need to feel pressure and reading it is at least 30 times faster than watching whole anime episodes of... sometimes nothing at all.

He's right. The animation in the show is brilliant. Battles are awesome and dynamic, unlike the originals whch were just static shots with those moving backgrounds

I'll admit, I marathoned a lot of the Kaizoku-Fansubs episodes back in the day and I got all the way up to the end of the beginning of the Davy Back Fight. From then on, I just read through the manga every week until today.

That's just it though, One Piece is better to marathon through but it's frustrating waiting for the next chapter or episode. Around Water 7 is when you should consider jumping ship from the anime to the manga.

The beauty of it is that the series is slow paced but every chapter feels important. Still, it's more of a series to enjoy if you have a LOT of downtime.

I honestly do not have the will power to marathon through anything that way...
I have watched some anime recently, like Tatami Galaxy.
I really got tired of the shonen genre in general.
I honestly do not see how they have been able to make it to to many episodes. HAs the plot still changed? Are the characters still like what they used to be in the beggining?
I feel taht if I was to watch the newer episodes, I would have no idea of what's going on
