>>13477329i think that the OP meant to show how Pokemon characters have "evolved" (not pun intended) along with the game.
In the beggining the game was targeted towards children, but now kids and adults play it alike, so the characters reflect that, that midpoint between the audiences, where you are no kid, nor adult.
Personally, I like that the early games were 10, since I played them from ages 5-9, 10-13 on the GBA and around 14 on the DS. In short, I feel like they have grow with me. Just a thought
