>>13481617I liked the sprites, and I thought the animated ones in Gen V were pretty awesome. I'd have loved to see the game eventually get sprites ac complex as something from, say, Dragon's Crown. That would be cool. People are down on sprites just because they see 3D models as the next logical step, and 3D is one more "D" than 2D, so it must be better.
I like the polygons, don't get me wrong, but the sprites did a good job of emulating the artwork and the cartoony feel of the world in general. Still, they had a good run, and they shall be missed.
