What's the better experience, Pokemon red on gameboy, or fire red on the gameboy advance?

Fire Red, it's a lot more tightened up and refined. In fact, I'd even say FR/LG are the most solid Pokemon games ever. They aren't the best, but they lack any sort of really annoying qualities and are wholly non offensive.

Meh, I like both but as far as "experiences" go I'd say Pokemon Red on the gameboy. It makes Fire Red all the much sweeter once you've played the first.

Back in the day obviously Red.

But these days I prefer the remakes, because more of the pokemon feel useful... so I can actually use them without it being a chore. I also like the other polished things such as the sorted inventory.

But I do still like those goofy old sprites from back then, theres a special charm to them.
