>>13486610I don't think they made HG/SS with the idea at the front of their mind of pleasing a group of people who have given up on pokemon, who can't be pleased, and will complain about everything you try to do. Fans of "the original 150" are not selling games.
The majority of the fanbase is kids, kids just like when you were young, playing pokemon in Gen 1 and 2. HG/SS were there to introduce younger fans to these pokemon and regions they may not have experienced before.
Pokemon is not made for those who gave up on it when the fad faded and forgot how to have fun. Not for the people who cry "they're running out of ideas" as if it was the intention to cater to the same-old-same-old.
Another thing. You might consider newer pokemon "abominations" from an artistic standpoint. A lot of people call them "overdesigned" when compared with earlier gens. None of these people stop to consider that in those early gens, pokemon were designed to also fit into low color count, low definition sprites while sill being comprehensible. With newer tech, the designs have evolved.
