Sugimori's, for the most part (looking at you, Gen 4 Ethan), are relatively normal ("normal" for a JRPG), while Ohmura's are somewhat soulless looking. He does all the other parts of his artwork just fine, but the BW2 protags' eyes, man, they look like they're going to devour your mind from the inside out.
That said they seem to have cleaned up the discrepancy this time around, Alexa and Sycamore have relatively normal eyes, more in-line with Sugimori's style.
That said, I really hope that Sugimori sticks around for a long, long time, but Ohmura will make a decent replacement some day.
