>>13488653In order for an elemental triangle to exist it needs to be x2 effective against one type and 0.5x effective against the other. That means each pokemon with the element has a fair advantage and disadvantage over the other.
Now bring a second type of Dark/Psych/Fighting into it. Let's say you make 3 full evo's as Fire/Psychic, Water/Fighting, Grass/Dark. Here's how effectiveness would lay out:
Fire/Psychic - Weak against Water and Dark, strong against Grass and Fighting. (2x strengths, 2x weaknesses)
Water/Fighting - Weak against Grass and Psychic, strong against Fire and Dark (2x strengths, 2 weaknesses)
Grass/Dark - Strong against Water, IMMUNE to Psychic, weak against Fire and Fighting (2x strengths with one immunity, 2x weaknesses)
The Grass/Dark has an unfair advantage over the Fire/Psychic. Now if they changed it that Psychic only does x0.5 damage in Gen VI, then you get an elemental triangle.
