What was the best moment in the show's history?
I think it was the Infernape Vs. Electivire fight.
It was one of the best moments visually, to say the least, and just seeing how blaze looked when activated was pretty wicked.

Is that really an issue though? As far as I'm aware, beating the league just means you get to face the E4, who would still be at a much higher level than Ash.

I don't think the anime world works the same way as the games in regards to that. They even showed that the other Elites can battle the Champion, and it means nothing. They're still Elites, and they don't have to start ANYTHING over. I think in the Champion League, you can fight them as many times as you want. The only way to go is forward. Even becoming Champion is not as far as you can go now. There is a such thing as World Champion now. If you can become a champion, though, there would be little difference. At that point, the only thing that separates you is pretty much who was luckier. Or at least that's the way they SHOULD be. Any other thinking would be totally unfair.

I know the show has really raised the stakes in terms of "great moments", but the one that sticks with me is Pikachu vs. Raichu for the Thunderbage. It was a powerful moment because it was the first badge Ash actually won himself, and it was definitely his biggest challenge, and the animation and story-boarding for the fight were top notch, especially compared to most other episodes of that era.

Pikachu letting loose the thunder-tail on Raichu is awesome. How is that not an actual move yet?

The Japanese music makes the filler bearable, I don't know why they didn't just buy the rights to some of it.
