The choice to pick a pokemon with that ability, the choice to hold that item, the choice to use that move. For example: If you use swift all the time, you don't have to deal with miss chance. If you use Focus Blast, you've accepted a high chance to miss.
These random pokemon amie boosts don't have that choice involved. Every pokemon now has a built-in focus band, or at least a toned down version. There is no choice, because it's every last one. You've added numbers that nobody can counter, nobody can plan for, which is different from any other die roll in the game.
