Help me out, /vp/.

I'm planning my team for Leaf Green, and so far I've got pic related. I CAN trade to evolve for Alakazam and Gengar, and I know I can't get Aerodactyl until later on (was going to use Pidgeot until then and then grind a bit).

How would you rate this team?

Alternatively, I was thinking about working Ninetales, Primeape, or Golem in there somewhere, but that's probably not a good idea.

If I was you I would switch Marowak out for Golem, but both are cool and badass pokemons. Riachu > Joleton everyday. I would try to fit a fire type in there. If you could easily change the coding of the game, make Areodactyl a fire/Rock type. Other than that you is goods my friend

You literally just have to beat Koga first. Doduo is available on and around Cycling Road.

You could argue that it can be caught right before Cycling Road, but even then, the "story" you're referring takes under an hour to complete.

I don't know how much of the story actually takes place at Seveii Islands because I never played FR/LG past the Elite Four. To be honest I was thinking of RBY this whole time.

You're the only person here that's really proved me wrong, and even then he still has to do a lot of the story before getting Aerodactyl. Which was kind of my whole point. "Most" might have been the wrong word, but it still stands.

Pokémon generally takes as long as you want to complete. I could take weeks grinding all my Pokémon to level 100 before Brock, that doesn't make it most of the game.

LE FILTERED LE TRIPFAGS LEAVE STOP BEING WRONG ON THE INTERNET when OP still has to go through a large portion of the game without Aerodactyl before getting it. There's a lot of stuff he'd have to do without it, not to mention he even said he plans to use Pidgeot until then.

Honestly I'd take either Alakazam or Gengar, but not both. Either one has ridiculous Sp Atk, and can learn both Ghost and Psychic moves. Maybe replace one with Ninetales.

I'm more confused than butthurt. There's really no arguing that Aerodactyl usually isn't available until later in the game, yet /vp/ is still managing to. If you don't necessarily want to use it, you probably won't get Aerodactyl until you've done nearly everything but the events on Cinnabar. If you go completely out of your way to get one, you still have to go through at least a quarter of the game.

Jolteon has that covered. Unless OP just blindly sends out Pokémon the whole game it doesn't matter that three are weak to water.

I do see your point, though. Really it depends how you play the game as well as how you look at it. The way I see it, he's got one that's good against water and one that is water, as well as either an Alakazam that can learn Shock Wave and a Gengar that can sleepfuck anything. And if he has revives he shouldn't even need anything but Jolteon.

Believe it or not, revives are part of the game. You can choose whether or not to use them but don't belittle people for using them and remember that they take up a turn, so it isn't always in your best interest.

And before you accuse me of being shit at Pokémon or whatever other trivial bullshit know that the only revives I use when I play are the ones I find, or in gen III the ones Linoone picks up. And occasionally I pick up fifteen or so for the Elite Four but that's only if it takes me a few tries without them.

That's an option as well.

Plus OP's weakness to water is covered. Like I said before, he's got a speedy electric type, a water type, and either a Gengar that can sleepfuck or an Alakazam which is a special powerhouse that can also learn Shock Wave if OP wants.

Yeah, spamming revives is a cheap way to win, but it is an option.

I can also have a team where only one is weak to water, but if the other five are fainted I'm fucked. There's no difference.
