>>13536322Gates had the best writing. So, no *something* like the previous games when a *certain* event happens.
The biggest problem was the amount of content in the game; it was short, and there was quite a limited amount of Pokemon. The paradise building thing was all kinds of boss though. And, while the writing was better, the story was less involving than the ones in Explorers and Rescue Team. (Especially Explorers of Sky with both the game and the Special Episodes. That last episode, damn.)
I suppose there was less content because of how big a company Chunsoft is, and how much work they put into the visual aspects of the game and little bits of polish. It is beautiful, and has so many little things that you don't really notice until you really look, like running around your partner makes them dizzy, or the random Drilbur that sometimes appear in paradise.
Overall, as a series, I have always loved the games, but that's because I like Roguelike games. If you are a fan of the genre, the entire series is definitely worth playing. The stories are engaging, and the music is great. Blue Rescue Team, Explorers of Sky, and Gates To Infinity are the versions I'd recommend since that covers all incarnations, and will have the most content.
