I used to think I was happy playing Pokemon. Then I realized...I was missing all of these cool fucking c-gear skins. And that I can never have them now. God damn it, why! Anyone else know this feel? And if not

Yeah. Pretty shitty. If they gamefreak was smart, they'd let you customize the hell outta it from the get go.

shit. I would've been fine with an option to transfer skins from B/W to the sequels. I have all these cool skins I'll never look at because I have no reason to touch Black after Black 2 came out.

The worst part? Pirates once again get the better end of the deal, being able to use ANYTHING as a C-Gear skin, fucking over paying customers.

Fuck farming berries online. Fuck dumb as shit mini games to capture random Pokemon. FUCK. The Pokewalker was genius. Then they come out with this abomination. Even Neopets was more engaging.

I never used it, to be honest, and have no idea how it works. But assuming you don't have to go out of your way to walk, time doesn't even factor into it. If you wear it whenever you walk like you're supposed to (I'm guessing Nintendo told GF they had to do something to encourage activity) then it's negligible, and the reward is free with your daily activities.

Like I said though, I never used it. If there's something to it other than "walk and your Pokémon get stronger" then you can disregard what I just said.

Gen VI already are gonna have the best bottom screen. It's the PSS (everything C-Gear did except better), Pokemon-Amie and Super Training. You flip through each 'slide' and it's presented on that bracelet they wear.

- Two items can be registered, and were available to use from the same screen as everything else.

- AUTO-RUN, THE BEST FEATURE EVER, REMOVED IN THE NEXT FUCKING FOUR GAMES.

- No stupid battery draining C-gear bullshit. You want to trade your Pokemon? Get to a fucking Pokemon centre. It's not that hard. Infra-red trading is bullshit. What is this, 1998?

- Neat and efficient item menu layout opposed the the gigantic retarded list format present in D/P/P. Seriously, it takes fucking forever to get through the list of items in Platinum using that shitty scroll wheel on the touch screen.

Yeah, the repel thing is probably the best feature of Gen V.

I honestly don't feel the need to register more than the bicycle and the itemfinder though, when I want to fish I'll register the rod, but that's it.

It's just as easy to just go into the bag and access the item menu as it is to bring up the registered list and access it from there.

Another feature of Gen V I do like though, is the little red 'X' in all of the screens that lets you instantly exit and get back to walking around.

You have no idea dude, whenever I'm playing a Gen III or IV game I have L=A activated.

It makes speeding through walls of text from random NPC's so much easier. When you've played the games as much as I have, you don't need to know that shorts are comfy and easy to wear or that you've just caught six fucking Magikarp.

When you're playing casually (like while watching TV or typing on your computer) the L=A function is a godsend.

Meh, I know I should get another DS, because the right hinge is broken and I have to keep a hold of the top screen myself, which isn't very ergonomic. But as long as I still can play game that require me to use all button efficiently like megaman, I'm keeping it.
TLDR: This thing will probably die before it gets replacement.

Are you me?

My DS Lite has a crack in the right hinge which has gotten worse in the last couple of months.

I'm lying on my couch or my bed playing the DS, the screen will fall shut and put the system on standby unless I hold it up. It's fine if I'm sitting upright because gravity makes it stay in place while I play but when I'm sitting awkwardly then it's pretty annoying.

I have two DS Lites so it's not a major problem as I just play the non-broken one most of the time, but while it's charging I have to rely on my shitty loose hinged one for backup.

Not quite, my right hinge is completely gone, so I have to hold the upper screen at all times when I'm using it. It's a good thing I have a 3DS. I only use this thing for pirated games on a flashcard

I used the C-gear for the first time the other day and it honestly was no better than just flying to a Pokemon Center and using the proper method of trading.

It was even more annoying because it uses infra-red and I had to put my two DS Lites facing each other like a retard.
