Black 2 Nuzlocke Run

I'm trying to do a Nuzlocke run of Black 2 w/ Tepig as my starter and keep wiping. It usually involves a lucky one hit KO and than failure due to a type match up. This is my first Nuzlocke attempt, any tips or hints?
