It's not being in denial, because the only thing similar is that they can transform and transform back, there is literally nothing else similar at all. Pokemon have had forms since RSE, so I don't understand why people are just now doing this now.
Not every digimon gains armor or machinery, but the vast majority do, and don't lie and say they don't, because Xros would like to have a word with you.
