>>13543513>Pawn: Pawniard, Rattata, Sentret, Zigzagoon, Bidoof, PatratWell, I t-think the fodder pokémon would be a good option for the pawn, even if there's not much variety
>Rook: Bastiodon, Aggron, Crustle, Golurk, Steelix???, Rhyperior, Rhyperior, Torterra"Tall" pokémon with high defenses. I don't like Forretress being here, though.
>Knight: Gardevoir???>Bishop: Alakazam, Espeon, Porygon-Z, Magnezone, Exeggutor, Gardevoir???, Roserade???, Zoroark???Humanshape pokémon? Bipedal pokémon? "Wizardly" pokémon? The latter would make it too easy to use only special moves, so I'm not sure. Maybe make it so they have to use a status move or two. I don't remember the strategic role of the Bishop in Chess, maybe someone who does could help me here.
>Queen: Vespiquen, Nidoqueen???, ???>King: Slaking (lel 40 BP), Slowking, Empoleon, Nidoking???I think choosing the latter two pieces purely based on the name is dumb. If the pokémon doesn't at least "look like a king", then screw that. Considering the Queen would have no restrictions, it has to be at least female-looking and "regal" to be a valid option, or else people would just go with female Heracross in Black 2 and solo the game. The King would also need to be male and "regal", but that would be as much top-priority as it also has that 40 BP gimmick.
Shit, this is difficult.
