With day/night, if there's a night-only Pokemon you want, you only have to wait less than 24 hours to get it. With seasons, if you want a Cubchoo or something, have fun waiting up to three months to get what you want.
And with all this detail being spent on seasons that usually don't matter in a positive way, it's taking away resources that could be spent on other areas of the game. I'll tell you right now day/night, an actual good mechanic, mattered a hell of a lot less in BW because they were busy playing up seasons.
So no, I don't want seasons to come back. They're a cool idea, but in practice, it doesn't work very well.
