I can get 3 in 1:10. Each reset can take me only 20 seconds if I'm fast enough.

It's so much easier just to breed for a shiny starter. It took me forever, but after 20x boxes of eggs I finally hatched a shiny tepig with a semi-decent brave nature.

I've gotten most of my shiny pokemon from breeding: sassy Steelix, jolly DW Dratini, jolly Archen, and my last one gentle, hyper cutter, male Mawile. Exluding the last one (which I'll attempt to train regardless) breeding lets you try for a decent nature when you want a shiny. And it is lightyears more time-efficient than soft resetting for a shiny with a almost 0% chance it will evenhave a benefiting nature.

It's a 1/8192 chance, and if you estimate that it takes maybe 30-35 seconds per SR, then you're sitting at around 100 SRs per hour. At that rate, it should take around 82 hours on average to get a shiny. So you're either going to get really fucking lucky, or you're going to pass out from exhaustion.
I've SR'd half a dozen legendaries for shininess, but those were with the shiny charm and only while I'm watching TV or doing something else. Never in one sitting. With this it still takes me about a week on average to get a shiny.

Hey OP; I hatched 2 in one night, and gave one away to my friend.

And since they were bred with shiny charm/masuda method, I actually got decent IV's and the right natures (one even had Solar Power)
