Just bought a Gamecube with Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness and Pokemon Colosseum, for $10 recently.

What's your thoughts on XD and Colosseum, /vp/?

The opponents read your inputs on Colosseum and it makes the game more annoying because they'll usually counter all your attacks.
XD is a huge grindfest. Get ready to reenter Mt. Battle a lot.

In Colosseum the human character models look like shit even by Gamecube standards, purifying shadow Pokemon is tedious, and it's really strict on capturing Shadow Pokemon on the first try or they're gone forever.

XD vastly improved all of these aspects.

I enjoyed Colosseum thoroughly. Played it several times.

XD I also enjoyed but only played it once through because my 2nd memory card was a crappy unofficial one that didn't save.

I'll definitely play them when I get a computer again

Anyway, Pokemon Ex DeexD was a pretty entertaining game, OP. I think Miror B is vastly overrated and is just an annoying lackie, liked only by hipsters. Haven't played Gale of Darkness, is it worth it?

Nostalgia sells.
People pay hundreds of dollars for gen I, II and III games on ebay.
You can theoretically set up a ridiculous price and it's pretty much guaranteed that some "collector" will buy it.

Just not the CG games.
Those never had a value to begin with, sadly.

Colosseum is pretty good but the after game sucks and isn't worth playing.

I'm playing GoD right now and am currently grinding to fight the final boss, pretty enjoyable game overall.

That's a bit exaggerated bro.

Fair enough, a mint copy of Pokemon Red still sealed in plastic might fetch $200.

In my country (UK) the Gen 1 and 2 games generally fetch around £20 each.

I paid £40 for a legit Fire Red + Leaf Green earlier this year.

I also managed to score Pokemon: Gale of Darkness for £37 which is a fucking bargain by UK standards.

I'd say that Colosseum and XD were pretty fun games. I enjoyed XD a little more due to the wider variety of Pokemon to use, and I also liked how it went back to the singles format for the battles. (Colosseum had most of its battles in doubles format.)

XD also had a thing where the shadow Pokemon would get moves that they couldn't normally have once you purified them. I still use my old Heal Bell Dragonite from that game.

I be careful with the natures and moves the Pokemon have. Some Pokemon in later gens don't learn that move anymore, hence making it exclusive to them. Makuhita for example knows Arm Thrust or some fighting move that he can't learn after generation III. I would recommend catching male versions so you could pass down moves which are exclusive to them. I deleted my Colosseum file months ago to start anew (don't worry, have all the old Pokes on my Emerald) with different natures (Espeon and Umbreon are going to kick my ass).
