So I have this problem, /vp/.

It seems I can't bring myself to use Pokemon in older games that are outclassed by themselves in future games (ex: Inner Focus Dragonite, Non-Sheer Force Nidoking) because I like to transfer all of my Pokemon up to the current game and don't like replacing them with others of the same species.

What are your thoughts on this?

I don't think you can have it both ways.

If you're willing to hack, you could simply clone your old pokemon, then alter whatever part of them you want to change, like giving your Dragonite Multiscale but keeping everything else the same.

I kind of have this problem using Pokémon in Gen III. I feel like I can't use some of them to their full potential in a pre-Physical/Special split environment.

I don't think Mega Stones are specific to a certain individual Pokemon. Using that as an example I'm pretty sure you'll be able to just take the Blazikenite from the event Torchic and give it to any other Blaziken and they'd have no problem using it

That doesn't help with any of the other problems but there's no reason to worry about Mega Evolution

I understand where you're coming from, and I don't use some of my older Pokemon because of that. I'll still use some like Dragonite from Gale of Darkness, though. Making him into a cleric with heal bell is fun.

B2W2 is great for, it plays very differently from BW, I just restarted mine and it keeps me entertained while Gen 6 arrives.

Back to the thread, I also have that urge to have relatively competitive pokemon to transfer, BUT one way that you could not worry so much about it, is thinking.. . You know what, even if this pokemon turns out not to be competitive anymore under Gen 6 egg moves /abilities, it could be a great parent :)
