I've lost the true spirit of Pokemon. I started getting into competitive and IVs and shit and now I'm a perfectionist when I train my Pokemon. I feel this may hinder my enjoyment of Gen 6 so please, turn this lost Smogonfag back into a Karenfriend. Also post some Girafarig, my main bro.

Just play through a gen four game with a team lf six you've never used.

Use some underdog Pokemon, like Ampharos, Aggron and so on

I have a friend I have known since I was 4 years old. We were like brothers. Every pokemon game that released, we spent the first day in one of our living rooms being excited about stuff in the games. Sophomore year of college we had a major falling out. Right before graduation friend sends me a text. We decide to put the past behind us and hang out again. After a few times hanging out Pokemon comes up. He mentions how he got sucked into EV, IV, natures, and smogon tiers and asks me why I didn't care about that stuff.
"Are you having fun doing that stuff, friend?"
After a long pause. "No, Anon. No I am not."
He dropped all the tier bullshit and did a type-specific run of White 2. Said it was the most fun he had in a pokemon game since GSC.

Just play the game and don't think about the competitive shit.

There's nothing wrong with that shit if you're doing it for WiFi battles OP but just try to do like a nuzlocke or something, or a monotype run. I play competitive but I will never understand how people get so absorbed into that shit that they cant play without doing it.
