Hey guise, is it just me, or does Sycamore's theme really sound like music that would play when you confront the champion, right before the badass champion theme. It sounds so penultimate, it makes you have a sense that you've done some amazing things and now you reflect on them, with Sycamore, before the final battle.

But I love Pokemon music. I think the rest of the music is great.

The only redeeming feature of this song is that it sounds French. That's the only reason everyone is busting their nuts over it.

Not at all. I think the song's average, but what I dislike is everyone hailing it as something it really just isn't. It's nice-sounding, but very plain. The arrangement is why everyone likes it, but that's not the most important thing about music.

Music is subjective. They may be average to you, but to other people they are amazing. And this is coming from some one who also hates the Wily stage one theme. There are much better songs in the series, hell, in the Wily stage category even, but it doesn't matter what I think now does it?

You're correct, but one thing about this is very clear to me: this track appeals to peoples' sensibilities because it goes for the predictable, safe choices (game is set in France, cue nauseating French arrangement and composition style).

It's like how one might say sappy Hollywood endings where everything resolves perfectly and all the good guys live happily ever after are corny and stupid. Sure that may be an "opinion", but it's an opinion with a point.

Probably a 5 or 6/10. Still not a bad song, and it's composed convincingly as to give it an authentic French sound.

But I like old Prof. themes much better. Oak and Elm had really charming ones.

Is this seriously confirmed to be the normal trainer battle theme and not just Sycamore's theme? Because it really sounds too awesome to be just a standard theme. I was starting to lose hope after hearing that in my opinion awful Rival battle theme, but holy shit, this theme. I would never avoid a single trainer anymore if it's real.
