Competitve battlers, I have a question:

Do you value originality when building a team? Will you refuse to use a pokemon because it is overused in its respective tier?

i use the pokemon i like and the strategies i like. i'm big on settup sweepers for instance. i'm not gonna run stall or baton pass...i dislike those. i like hail but the other weathers are lame to me. i like to have diversity amongst my team. i like setting up entry hazards but don't waste time removing them. i sometimes run walls but not wish passers. i'm pretty agro.

i do enjoy using some under appreciated pokemon but primarily because it will catch people off guard.

I don't really care if I used overused Pokemon or kits, my only concerns are my chances of winning and how fun I find that particular team.

In lower tiers I go all out with originality, it's tricky but rewarding when it all works. I once had a special defensive Power Split Shuckle that Power Split a Hitmonlee who preceded to use swagger on me. Needless to say one roll out wrecked his team. Felt good.

In higher tiers I try and stay away from using things that are a but overused but I love seeing originality.
