Now for a quick bit of backstory, i actually hadn't really touched my Gold for a while before attempting to beat Red, a couple of months at least, i'd only gone back to it to get a sense of completeion before i took the ROM and emulator off my phone to make room of a GBA emulator, and with the colour inversion glitch still present, i thought taking down Red wouldn't be too much of a chore. But coming so close every time i faced Red, i wasn't about to let effort get in the way of finnishing this game before moving onto the next one.
Anyway, i was grinding my Bellossom against the Poliwhirls in Mt Silver, when a thought struck me "you know, if i find a shiny on an RSE emulator, i could probably get it onto a real cartridge, but if i find one while grinding here, it's basically stuck forever." This thought was then followed by a solid minute of "shit, this is it, i'm going to find a shiny on a bloody emulator run of Gold again i KNOW it."
It wasn't until i'd gotten distracted 30 seconds later by a text, and lost my very focused train of thought that the shiny poliwhirl appeared, but it was still close enough to rub it in.
This happened yesterday evening.
It's currently sitting in the box next to the shiny rattata.
Yes i still mad.
