GSC/HGSS Kanto gym leader battle. Not because it's bad, but because it's so COMPARITIVELY bad alongisde the god-tier RBGY/FRLG one.

Same thing with the route 2/3/4/etc. theme. They were so incredibly well-done in the Kanto-only games and they got SHIT ON in the Johto ones.

You cannot deny it. The worst for me I think were the HG/SS remakes. Especially the rival theme. That just ruined it for me. Something about the 8-bit style just had a certain feeling to it. Gives me chills whenever I listen to it, but the remake just really turns me off

I don't know if it's the nostalgic goggles but that's one of the better battle themes. Much better then the Hoenn Gym Leader battle theme IMO.

0:20 is boss. One of my favorite progressions in any Pokemon Music. I'm glad I'm not the only one disappointed with the Gen 2 and Gen 2 remake versions of it.
