Apparently, Masuda said you could catch more than 650pokemon in Kalos.
Maybe they did that in case they couldn't get the retro-compatibility to work?

Adding the Gen 1-5 starters and legendaries, assuming you can't get any of them in Kalos, we have 92 Pokemon missing.

If we can catch over 650, you add 92 to that, and we get over 742. If no other Pokemon are missing from previous generations, we have at least that much, and already there's the qualifier "over".

Then of course, if there Are other Pokemon missing, add that number. And add another two or three for event-only Kalos Pokemon.

There will probably be close to 760.

They could have a safari zone for every region, maybe a mixed Johto/Kanto zone. Fuck, they could even make Starters have like a 0.00001% chance of appearing in them. Make them shiny rare.

I get ya, like how the HG/SS, Hoenn and Sinnoh versions had separated sections with certain Pokémon, they could make like a couple of sections per region, with a large tunnel with a train or boat or something to travel quickly between them. Like the starter idea, too.

Exactly, you see rarer Pokémon in Safari Zones, often from other regions, why not add them? They could make the encounter rate rather small, maybe implement something like the shaking grass in Gen V, cause sometimes you could find things like the elemental monkeys or fully evolved Pokémon.

The only time the starters were EVER said to be rare was Johto, and even that was retconned by HG/SS. The starters aren't rare, the games just won't let you catch them since you're supposed to trade for them. Otherwise, I find it hard to believe that the starters are special in any way. That's entitled BS, and is only pandering to the kiddies so they won't cry when they find out they can't have what they want. It's just a game and it will never portray a world realistically.

Yes. But people will probably whine because the reason behind it is that there's no way to trasfer old poke to XY.
I just hope there's legit way to capture legendaries that were never distributed correctly in Europe back in the days, like mew or deoxys.

I'm assuming he meant that with a combination of old and new Pokemon, they're over 650 Pokemon one could catch in Kalos. There will still be a few left out of the game like past starters, legendaries, and a few odd balls Pokemon that people forget.
