What happened to this concept? Why hasn't it been implemented since? Imagine if Pokes like Charmander casted an automatic Flash when you entered a dark cave...

They did? Well, berries were only available by the Dream World. Now that they're bringing back poke treats, I think berries will become more prevalent again. I'm kinda vexed that they didn't keep it anyway since having all those free rare candies would've made things so easy. (although it would be less efficient than Audino grinding, admittedly)

I saw that but I don't understand. In HG SS I'd always pick up Shuckle and he'd have a berry juice on him. If you put a berry on him will it turn to juice after a certain amount of steps or something?

Making berry juice isn't an "ability" in the same sense that sturdy is an ability you retards.

It still only has one ability at a time.

I think that is a Crystal-Only thing

IIRC you make shuckle hold a berry and then it turns into a berry juice and sometime later the juice turns into a rare candy
