I think you misinterpreted my post. What I said was that it's petty to hate on things that aren't killing/senseless destruction/stifling of innovation.

It's one thing to say, "I hate consumerism." It's another thing all together to say, "I hate the design of a Pokémon."

So many times people say things like, "X is gay. It's stupid and I don't like it because Y." A lot of times, people will fly off the handle at even a mention of something they don't like. Whatever they are saying, I hear and see it around me all the time. People do that for everything from cars, to sports teams, to Pokemon.
