How long do you think it's going to take before we have a working PokeGen for Gen VI?

Really, if Nintendo forgoes a transfer system to have a *hack-free* Wi-Fi battle system for a week or two, all they're doing is fucking over the people who want to trade over unhacked Pokemon from previous gens.

It basically means that as of E3, there was no way to transfer, bit they were working on a way to fix this problem.

Just because they're trying to make it happen doesn't mean they'll succeed.

It is technically possible for them to create a solution, though, most likely using (temporary) 3DS software as a bridge between the games.

I have every pokemon I've ever played with since the GBA versions. I won't buy a new game I can't load all my lovable boys and girls onto. But they will have, they have always said backwards compatibility was important to them.

The way pokemon are generated using only 2 values makes it super hard to find a formula that work in a way or another. Especially if they dropped the current seend system to accomodate the changes of this new gen.

if a Nintendo DS game can exchange Pokémon data with 3DS eShop software than I doubt it's impossible for Gen 5 to transfer data to Gen 6, even if they have to work out out a bit.

To add, all this app would have to do is read the Pokemon you have, recreate them in the app and delete them from the DS cart. DS/3DS carts would not have to comminucate in any way, and you could do it on one system.

If the DS games could read your GBA cart, delete data on it and then recreate that data on the DS cart, then why can't a piece of 3DS software do the same?

Nowhere did I say two DS games can communicate using a 3DS console.

GF has stated the issue is that though the 3DS can communicate wirelessly like a DS it can only do it with DS games. 3DS games use a seperate system

They've already made a way to communicate the 3DS and DS with Dream Radar, there should be no doubt in anyone's mind that gF can't make a transfer app.

No communication between DS/3DS games required, and you'd only need one 3DS to do it. It's almost exactly how they did the Pal Park in Gen. IV, just with software acting as a middle man instead of doing it through the game itself. I have absolutely no doubt that GF could create a piece of software that reads data from a DS cart and then recreates it on a 3DS cart.
