So what are the chances of these 3 fuckers having some significance in xy? Like are they going to unlock an event like the legendary dogs did back in gen 5 or are they just a way to get kids to gamestop and find out about xy?

I don't think they're going to have relevance. Their entire purpose seems to be to get you down to Gamestop to preorder. It mentions it on their card thing and that's obviously why it isn't available over wireless.
