So I'm new to soft resetting for a shiny and I just reached 800 SR's for a shiny Torchic and was wondering if there are way of increasing the chance of finding one.

I heard from someone that having a trainer id with the same numbers (eg: 24444) helps a lot but that sounded a bit sketchy to me. Someone has also told me that when they were getting there shiny Torchic, the Zigzagoon came up shiny 13 times and I havn't seen one shiny Zigzagoon yet.

I consider myself to be way too patient when it comes to menial tasks like this. I'm also doing other things whilst I hunt for the shiny which makes it almost not boring at all.

So could someone please tell me if their are any other ways to increase the chance for a shiny?
