If it was their intention to have a connection to our world originally, that idea in general has since been retconned. Pokemon is it's own world now. No connection to ours. True, I cannot prove that such a place name does not exist in the pokeworld since we have not seen it, but I'll be dagged if the weird naming scheme that has applied to all regions so far does not apply everywhere. I think it's safe to assume that wherever Mew was found, it does not have that name. It should've been retconned. Then again, there's a lot of things that I say should be retconned, but they remain far too attached to old ideas that are no longer true in-universe. I already have no compunctions with speaking against the franchise, so there is no use of telling me otherwise. It's clearly a relic of old ideas that have since been abandoned, and whether they say it is or not, I say it's no longer true. It just makes better sense.
