The idea of an immeasurably powerful monster being responsible for the creation of the universe is a terrifying prospect in many ways, hence I find Arceus as a creator deity far more fascinating than Arceus as a pokemon

In a lot of ways arceus reminds me of an almost lovecraftian god. Less a willful creator and more a primordial creative impulse. Something alien and incomprehensible. And certainly not something you'd want to ever "commune" with.

Another reason why I actually like Arceus a lot. And I guess if you were to design something that looked like a pokemon but also like a god, then Arceus's design fits the bill, at least in my eyes.

A good headcanon is that the catchable, pokemon form Arceus is simply an Avatar in our physical, earthly realm.

A better one in my opinion is that he's just the strongest pokemon with reality-bending and creation abilities that isn't a deity, as Cynthia even suggests.

The Regis. Those robotic sounds they made plus them doing nothing but destroying everything in sight made them pretty fucking scary in the movie they were in, so imagine a movie just about them.
