It's mainly for Paul to acknowledge that one can raise their Pokemon with compassion and still be a powerful trainer. Had Ash lost, Paul's views of raising Pokemon with sternness and strictness would hold up. That is what I saw when I watched their battles and why I, personally, consider it good.
>>13597541>I'm not sure I can agree that DBZ can be enjoyed by any age group. Many people say the same thing about Pokemon. Do you agree? Do you see my point.
>>13597541>I still disagree. That's fine then, but if you want to come off as gentlemanly, please don't assume those who like that battle have no understanding. As you can see in my first paragraph, I like and understand that rivalry for my own reasons, as others theirs. Just as you like your battles for your own reasons.
>Just because you want to try raising your Pokemon a different way doesn't mean you need to act like a complete asshole to everyone around you.People have their own methods of coping.
It's not right or wrong, it's just what happens sometimes. In this case, Paul feels he'd be traversing the same path as Reggie if he loosens up; to him, it falls into the same spectrum as Reggie/Ash's methods of training, which is wants to avoid. So he acts cold. You don't have to like it, not at all, as long as you understand it.
