What should I buy? The new and cheap 2DS, or a 3DS? The only reason why I'm buying it is becouse X Y.

Does the 3D device worth it? Or would I waste my money?

3D actually looks really good and makes the visuals look that much crisper. Also yu have the option of turning it off if it bothers your eyes, and you can turn it back on at any time later. Also, it closes like a proper DS and your screens won't get scratched (and it'll actually fit in your pocked, unlike the lunchbox sized 2DS)

Honestly the 2DS is meant for children since the 3D is 8 or 11+

The 2ds has a slightly better battery life, the screen seems bigger to me, and it comes with both mono and stereo sound.

I'll buy the 2ds, anyway. It comes under $200 if you plan to buy the new Pokemon game.

And the 3d thing is just a passing fad. Look at the HD 3d TVs, it's just not working.

Purely opinions, I have a 3DS, but I've never used 3D. It doesn't make much of a difference.

I always have 3D turned on. It looks awesome and makes the game feel better. Of course you have to get used to it, wich took me like 3 days or something, until you know how to hold it right and at wich angle, but once you got the hang of it you'll never want to miss it.

I'm surprised how many people outright hate the 3D. I've gotten so used to it, whenever I switch to 2D mode it feels watered-down in comparison.

Unless you have vision problems or you're trying to conserve battery life, I can't think of any reason to play in 2D mode.

Hands on video of the 2DS. Honestly, It looks great, and the 3D gives me eye cancer, so I'll get it. It also gets rid of the Hinge, that shit breaks sooner or later and your portable snaps in half.

DS Phat was fine because that shit was fucking sturdy but DS lie onwards just feel too fragile.

I mean I own a PSP and a DS and I get terrified when a DS falls off because of the hinges. As for the PSP iI know that shit is built to fucking last.

But I'm really on the fence about the screens. If they were bigger, I'd buy it in a heartbeat but I admit 3DS XL BIG screens are really attractive.

The picture's that were released and the box art doesn't do the device any justice.

It looks a lot nicer in the hands on video. I usually wear cargo shorts/pants and carry around a backpack, so the Portability everyone is fucking spazzing out over isn't a problem.

Might actually consider getting one on day of release with X or Y now. and get an XL whenever any time after.

Yeah, man. I feel the same. I have my old GBC and classic GBA and they're as good as new, never ever worrying me, yet the DS models insists in breaking their hinges on their own. Shit really worries me. The DS Lite in special feels like it's made of glass.

About the screens, it's common acceptance that the graphics look better on the original 3.5 inch size. They're not that small either.

The 2DS is for toddlers and poorfags, it is marketed and designed for them. Anyone with the cash for a 3DS XL would be doing themselves a disservice to get it if they're looking for a quality experience.

Buy it only if you really don't care about the design and screen size.

Best option buy a used 3DS, tons of them floating around since the release of the 3DS XL.

You *could* get the 2DS, however, that means getting a console you can't close to save space and get it in your pocket, the spotpass is actually quite entertaining, and not being able to carry it around easily just makes it pointless as a handheld console, as you most likely have an PC/xbox/Wii etc for in the house.

Which is why I'd advise splashing out the extra £10 or whatever for a proper 3DS.
