This person thinks like I do on levels, but not the stats. I am not good at thinking of effects, either, or making a good replacement for evolving. I abandoned it because I cannot tier pokemon like I can with Digimon. Not with regular pokemon anyway. I can do it for pseudo legends and legends, but I would be unable to create a consistent system for what level a regular pokemon should be at since it would end up contradicting itself and be arbitrary. I refuse to do that with pokemon.

It would have to survive to perform that function. A 1700 atk can't do that. Even in the old days, 1800 was the mainstay. (that may not be true anymore)

I think it's level is fine, but what level were you thinking? 10? And Charmander is now a 1900 ATK and Bulbasaur is 2000 Def.

2000 Def was never too strong for a level 4. Look at Mystical elf, Giant solider of stone, etc. All first gen monsters.

I am not this person, but the last time we tried to do this, it ended up a clusterfuck of people who couldn't agree on what to do and the meta mongers were too strict on how the cards should act. True, I say this because I'm unaware of the meta, but I don't want to know, either. This should've been a fun project where we just make up junk as we wish. I'm all for making a consistent set of standards, but they should only apply to you, and no one else. I was never out to make anything that would work in how Yugioh is done now. It was just for fun. I can't have fun now? Everything has to be competitive because you say so? The Yugioh fandom has not changed in seven years or so, then. You're still all giant buggers.

You need to make it a continuous spell or at least change the evolutions to make them more powerfull/evolve through other means(think Lv monsters)

otherwise at most you could only evolve 3 'mons through the duel(w/o using recycle cards)

It has been like that since the beggining, normal monsters tend to have high attack/defense at low level, their "drawback" is being a normal card

why not make the basic forms automatically "evolve" if they either kill a monster or stay on the field for one turn.

the evolution cards can be played as is but lose their effect if played by not evolving

venusaur
