>>13599927Which is why I really love the first games in the series. It was really light in the plot department, you got a lot of freedom. There was no handholding, and only a few roadblocks. Not as bad as Black2/White2's "Welcome to a new town now stay here until you complete all the quests then move to the next!"
And nope they could easily find a way to make the games much more free. Hell, they don't even need to be full freedom, but at least more choice than they had before would be nice. Like I said, Red/Blue were really nice that way.
I also liked how Red Blue handled legendaries. You only heard about them if you looked into it, or saw a glimpse of them. But no plot, no sudden "IMMA JUMP IN FRONT OF YOU FIGHT ME" they just hid in optional dungeons out of the way places waiting to be found.
Speaking of which one thing I hated about B/W and the only thing I hate about X/Y is how THERE ARE SO MANY RIVALS AND PEOPLE FOLLOWING YOU.
I mean just... Fuck. Leave me alone. I liked the feeling of lonliness Red/Blue had. It was just you and your Pokemon. The only constants was your rival who was an actual rival douche you wanted to beat down, and the Professor aids, who only gave you stuff if you were doing good enough.
I don't consider myself a Genwunner. I mean, the new games are still fun, I love the new Pokemon, and the new Metagame is a vast improvement. But please gamefreak, go back to reducing storytelling. Make the adventure less about everyone else and just let me focus on making my own adventure. You make the giant world filled with places to explore, and Pokemon to catch, I'll make the adventure.
