The thing with the male exclusive pokemon like Sawk/Throh, Tyrogue and his evolutions, and Braviary that's weird to me is that they would have to meet dittos in order to breed.

There has to be female counterparts of them somewhere in the world.

To be fair, they don't learn any fitting moves, like Razor Wind. Though they do get Aerial Ace, it's not really the same. They're probably based more on thieves than Kamaitachi. I dont understand the ice typing at all, honestly, and given the feathers, they'd probably BE flying types if they were. Even if Razor Wind is normal.

We have to make gender assumptions based on the looks and sound of the name, making it so that saying what a person feels is the "wrong" gender for a Pokémon becomes somewhat awkward.

This was even more gut-based back in Gen I, since Pokémon other than Nidoran didn't have set genders.
