>>13605824It's more like no one's going to stand against us because we have too much influence. The UN might as well be the United States of the World, and we are officially an empire. Their assessment has reason to it, but if anything was going to be done about it, it should've been done soon after it was formed. By then, we had already garnered too much influence, so that possibly could not be avoided. FDR would be sad indeed. What we needed was an impartial arbitrator, but that is not possible when every nation will want to focus on their own ideas and goals. You would need someone that has no obligation to any one nation. Sort of like a political body outside of the others, and above them. That might have been their intention, but that is not what happened. The difference with what I say is that it would require them to no longer hold affiliation to wherever they're from, and instead concentrate on the larger picture. It would be a mistake to give one person this kind of authority, though, so perhaps it would involve a whole body of such people. I could be wrong, though, since to ask people to forget their own legacy would be foolish to say the least. I can't think of a way to make it so the nations are truly equal, though, other than to simply kick us in the balls and divide the influence equally. I honestly think it would be easier to make the intelligent decision and scale back our involvement ourselves. I don't think anyone wanted all these wars or for it to mean that we have to get involved in everything. I don't think anyone truly knows what our government does anymore, though. How can they? They have other things to worry about. As a result, we keep electing idiots who are more concerned about being re-elected than what the people really need. We can no longer run our own country because nobody really cares anymore.
