If you rush through them, you can beat both of them before September 30th, but 5th Gen really isn't a gen you should rush through. It may be linear as a straight line, but there are loads of optional stuff to do along the way. Treat the experience like an amusement park, your goal is to get to the Roller Coaster, but you want to visit the bumper cars and the log plume ride on the way there.
