The feeling I got from the movie is that they're of equal strength. I have always used this matter when ranking them against the other legends. Supposedly, the game canon is different, but I thought that them being equal made better sense. The Mega Mewtwo, though, should surpass anything that is not a force of nature.

Are we going to have to have a full scale battle for this to be settled? If Mewtwo was that much more powerful, it would've been able to overwhelm it easily. It matched everything Mewtwo was capable of. What they said means nothing, use your eyes and make your own judgment.

Mewtwo is stronger in the Psychic powers department.

Mew has a lot of abilities that Mewtwo lost in the modifications, including the power to transform, learn almost any move, etc.

2's more powerful. 1's more flexible.

In the end, it doesn't matter who's really stronger, because even if Mew IS stronger it never uses its strength. For all intents and purposes, Mewtwo is stronger. Even with the fate of the pokemon world hanging in the balance, Mew wasn't willing to actually take out Mewtwo, so it's not even a question of pushing it.

Mewtwo asks if he's just a copy, but he's corrected when the science dude tells him he's greater than Mew, and that his psychic power exceeds that of an actual Mew. The fight is probably the closest we'll ever get to knowing, since there was no winner it can be assumed that they are of equal strength.

However, the Mewtwo from Unova is a total pussybitch.

so just curious, why does the mew fossil look like that? He doesnt have any skeletal reason for having offshoots like that. Those look like they'd belong to a feathered pokemon or something, unless that's part of it's ribcage, but even than that looks odd

This. Most people say it's either an eyelash or a rib cage, but I agree that would be an odd rib cage.

There's no sense of scale for it so it could be anything, really. It's hair could even potentially look like that.
