This is the purpose.

The problem is, they said "2 hours to max a stat's EV". It's slower than fighting Pokemon with EV items.

The problem with that is that you have to be competitive to begin with to even get said items. Then again, I could agree that you have no business messing with EVs unless you are competitive

Well it's kind of a problem and yet it's kind of not. It's a problem if you're sitting down with the game with the exact purpose of EV training and you want to do it as quickly as possible. On the other hand, it's fucking great because you can just do the thing and then go do other things while it's going on.

I'm not sure if this is possible IRL, but I much prefer the breeding system. Complex and energy draining, but there's nothing more rewarding and satisfying than using a Pokémon you bred and trained from egg to final stage, IMO.

I don't find it satisfying. I find it boring and a waste of time. There's nothing particularly interesting about hatching tons of eggs just to release all but one of them.

How? By the time you get access to the Champions' Tournament in BW2 you should have enough BP to just buy them all. Also they're available in-game. ALSO you can get BP at the battle subway. Really, "not being competitive" is not an excuse for not having them.

It's not interesting, no, but all the effort put into it just makes it that much sweeter to use. I've noticed that things like Showdown have spoiled me when it comes to a Pokémons IVs and EVs at least. I guess I just appreciate my Pokémon more if I've put more time and effort into them, instead of whipping up an OU team in under 5 minutes.

But hey, your opinion and I respect it.

I consider all battle facilities to be competitive. You can't use ordinary methods to win it, I don't care what you say. As for buying them, don't you have to raid a convention to do that? (get a bazillion hits via streetpass) I don't even have BW2 because I thought it was a flipping waste of time.

Keep IVs.

Change the breeding system so the baby will always have a 31 IV in any stat a parent had one in. (Also something with the Power items to easily get Pokémon with the perfect IVs for your desired Hidden Power/Trick Room/Whatever).

Synchronize causes any wild Pokémon to share your Pokémon's IVs as well as nature.

A stat under 15 IVs would be low, so if a pokemon's stats are all under 15 it's shit. A stat over 15 would be good because that's when the trainer at the battle subway says it's good.

what if pokemon-amie, is the way to tweak IV's they can't go over 31 but what if through constant care you can turn a 25 into a 30
we've already seen that it affects battle and possibly stats in some way

I'd be happy if the breeding system looked at which parent had the highest IV in each stat, and made it so the baby inherits that IV... plus maybe a little variation (say plus or minus 5 points), that way you still have have to put in some effort to get a decent baby.
