ITT: Post hilarious anime moments.

I just started watching Episode 72, The Ancient Puzzle of Pokémopolis.

Misty: I remember reading about a hidden city, where the people built statues to honor Pokémon.
Brock: If they built statues to honor Psyduck, they weren't hidden. They were lost.

The anime is surprisingly funny IMO.

It was funny when 4Kids dubbed it, because they threw in easter eggs for older fans that the target audience wouldn't pick up on. TPCi s much more adherent to the original Japanese, which has no jokes of that nature.

compared to all the other animes, how do you think season 1 compares?

certainly compared to the other pokemon seasons, it is without doubt the best. I like how it wasn't just endlessly filled with fillers.

How is it not filled with filler? Most episodes--included the one mentioned in OP--is the same "on their way to [whatever] Ash and the gang run into [character of day] and his/her [Pokemon of the day] with a special problem!"

Except it was, unfortunately. Most of the episodes were still the same TR tries to steal Pikachu and Pokemon-of-the-Day all the time.

For SOME gifs the layout can be cleverly used, but most of the time splitting them up like that is totally needless.

That being said the concept of them being split like that makes no sense outside of tumblr's layout int he first place.

The beginning up until the end of early Johto is easily the best the show has ever been, and it still wasn't as good as any of the first three seasons of Digimon.
