Design-wise, Quagsire is perfect to me already. I don't need him growing extra fins or super-saiyan hair. Plus part of his charm is that he kinda sucks.

That's really how bad most of these look, and a lot of them are unnecessary.

and then you get them with designs like this and the evolutions are only temporary.
We Digimon now, you don't have to be a genwunner to see that.

It's actually okay for me, because Blaziken and Lucario were already pretty digimon, so I can handle them going to the extreme.

Use your brain ya dingus. You only mega-evolve after switching in.
Charizard will switch in as a Fire/Flying. He'd still take 50% from Covert Quartz.
Magic Guard would be essentially useless, pretty much doing nothing but eliminating Hail, Sand, and Poison from hurting him.
