I'm conflicted, /vp/.

I really love Clauncher, but I also really love Spritzee, I'm apathetic to both Skrelp and Swirlix, and I like both version legendaries.

Nada, nope, zero, kaput. Because I like all Pokémon in their single way of being. I'm choosing Y only because I'm a male (XY chromosomes).

Yes. In Pearl, I chose the game because I actually liked Palkia better than Dialga. And I still do.

I'm leaning towards X because of Clauncher, but if someone else I know gets X before me, I'll just get Y.

Not always. I've just always gotten the version my brother didn't get, but I chose White deliberately for Solosis line.

Because of X and Y's updated GTS where you can search without having seen, absolutely. But it still bugged me when I couldn't get Vullaby without having to get my bro to catch one.

Somewhat, Xerenas is the first legendary (Except for Shaymin) that I actually like.

Don't really care for version exclusives except for Yveltal.

Back then I wanted Gold because a magazine sais it has Phanpy and Donphan, but it was changed in the EU versions so that Tesdiursa and Ursaring replaced them. Vice versa in Silver. Really disappointed.

I really think the online features kind of made version exclusives less relevant. It's only relevant if you care for your OT.

Depends in whatever starter you pick, I guess. If you pick the Froak, you don't really need another Water-type on your team.

Sort of. Version exclusives are now serving the role they were always meant to; people will be trading more to get the Pokemon they want.

I always get both versions.
That said, I am happy that I decided on Y to be my first play through because I really like Spritzee and Skrelp. I have nearly my entire team picked out depending on the final starter evolutions.

Sapphire: Kyogre, Lunatone, Ludicolo
Diamond: Dialga, Rampardos, Honchkrow
White: Zekrom, Reuniclus, Braviary
White 2:Camerupt, Electivire, Minun
I'd say yes.
