So I've been casually looking for a shiny starter in HG/SS now for the past 2 weeks. (About an hour a day) and my patience is growing thin.

How do those autists on youtube have the patience to do this shit?

Oh well in that case it's really simple. All you need to do is download a pokemon creation program like Pokegen, and use one of those fake GTS distribution websites.

I think the most popular site is Pokecheck, but I prefer pokegts.us. Once you find the website you want to use all you need to do is change the DNS in your DS internet settings to whatever the site tells you to change it to. It's pretty easy.

I don't think so. If you wanted it for some reason I know for a fact you can send your pokemon to Pokecheck to check all of its data including your secret ID.

Also, I think that guy may have been like college age.

He ran into a double battle with a Shiny Amoonguss. He went to KO the other wild pokemon, but Amoonguss used Rage Powder, drawing the attacks to the Amoonguss, KOing it.
