>>13644564I'm generally mixed about Special, but I think they had the better "May" on that one.
Also I think they depicted N perfectly on PokéSpe, anime N was more or less a half-reformed N by the time he met Ash -- Reformed enough to know Ghetsis was up to no good but not quite reformed enough to understand the bond trainers share with Pokémon. Special we got to see N before getting "fixed."
Anime Candice was perfect too
that dub voice man, that fucking dub voice. So perfect..., actually I'll go on a limb and say Sinnoh was the only anime adaptation arc where I didn't mind how any of the game characters were depicted.
I don't hate anime Jasmine, but I like making fun of her. She's kind of like how Nintendo of America markets Kirby, always having to project a tough bitch image on screen. Every other adaptation has the right kind but the anime REFUSES to make her demure.
People can hang me for this, but I think the anime gets Sabrina MOSTLY right but not in the way many would think. The "real" Sabrina surfaces after Ash wins the Marsh Badge and everyone else just cares if she's only demented 100% of the time. Could be a little of both, where she's socially awkward but means well.
It's hard to fuck up Looker. Anime Looker's handled quite well.
Skyla in the anime is pretty bad unfortunately (not just BOTH ENG and JPN voices, the character as well) and she's a real cunt in Special.
Morty was okay in the anime, I kind of thought he was a sign Johto could have been much better than it really was (Ho-oh is why) until someone had to hammer the status quo back in.
Anime Lance's only crime was being underused. His appearance was great, but again like Morty he was wasted potential. Best one outside the games.
Anime Flannery was okay, Special Flannery was even better.
