I have played hundreds of matches online on both Pokemon games and Showdown and I have only played with two people using Ninja Stones, and if they ever use anything rock related SURPRISE I can switch Pokemon.

On DS it's usually 3 on 3 so entry hazards aren't as effective. Showdown should still be filled with them, unless you're playing a weird metagame.

But charizard has pretty decent stats. His sp atk and speed are pretty good, he just cannt keep going because of stealth rocks (limiting choice sets) and residual damage (from a life orb), potentially starting at 50% hp. Megacharizard with drought has a loooot more potential, very strong fire blasts. It looks like it'll be a lot faster, too.

Except that you must attack once in order for it to Mega evolve and activate Drought. You can instantly switch out Ninetales from the start and still have the weather activated. Besides that yeah it's better.

Like it's been forced to evolve to become more efficient.

It does look like it would be better in general anyway. He looks much less soft, like his scales have hardened into armour or something.

Holy fuck you're all missing the point. Mega Charizard must attack in order for Drought to take effect.

With Ninetales, you can send it out and IMMEDIATELY switch it back in and Drought will have activated.

Charizard must stay in for at least one turn for Drought to activate.

Charizard doesn't need to worry about weather wars, BECAUSE its ability activates during the attack, it overrides any existing weather.
